Title: Experimental Tactical Platform

1
Experimental Tactical Platform
The ETP will be designed like a Mars NASA
probe. It will be equipped with the cameras and
sensors required to passively detect and record
many forms of energy emissions coming from an AOP
or suspected ETI probe. It will use COTS
computer hardware/software and a
telecommunication link via satellites to a
central computer.
2
What Might an ETP System Look Like?
3
How Does the Process Flow?
4
Important Components of the ETP
  • Search and Track sensors (polycamera, DAS).
  • Solid State Imaging sensors (Optical, IR, UV).
  • Broad band Spectroradiometer.
  • Alpha, Beta, and Gamma burst radiation
    detectors.
  • Radar and Radio frequency detectors.
  • Motion sensors (Geophones and Seismic
    detectors).
  • ELF and Ultrasonic detection microphones.
  • EMI shielding (Faraday) cages.
  • Battery, Wind and Solar Panel power sources.
  • Data recorders (RAID or MO drives).
  • Internal sensors computer for monitoring
    equipment operation.
  • Computer tracking and analyzing software.
  • Back-up shielded computers and power supply.
  • Fully Automated Weather Station.
  • Retractable sensors for protection against
    severe weather.
  • Warning devices to discourage animals and human
    vandalism.

How does one attract an AOP to come close to an
ETP?
If the ETP is designed to be Low Observable,
and AOP sightings are random and unpredictable,
what strategies can be used to get detection hits
and close encounters?
  • Put out bait, such as a programmed sequence of
    light signals.
  • An active approach that is not considered Low
    Observable.
  • Have a rapid deployment team ready to set up an
    ETP in a new area.
  • Has logistics challenges but workable if report
    is lt 24 hours old.
  • Monitor areas where AOP sightings are current or
    ongoing.
  • Good a place as any to set up an ETP if the
    phenomenon repeats.
  • Instrument humans and put them out in the field
    with the ETP
  • Single-blind experiment to quantitatively measure
    human factor.
  • Deploy many ETP around the world in hopes of
    catching something.
  • Requires reliable funding, patience, and managing
    many platforms.
