3
INTRODUCTION
  • What is wireless sensor network?

Sensor node
Gateway
Base Station
4
Introduction -
  • WSN are used to collect data from the
    environment.
  • They consists of large number of SENSOR NODES
and one or more BASE STATIONS.
  • The nodes in network are connected via Wireless
    communication channel.
  • Each node has capability to sense the data ,
process the data and send it to rest of the nodes
    or to Base Stations.

5
STAR
RING
CLASSIFICATION
TREE
6
  • Star Topology
  • Single hop to Gateway
  • Gate way serves to communicate between nodes
  • Node can not send data to each other directly
  • Lowest Power consumption
  • Easily scalable
  • Not easily reliable as one point of failure
  • No alternate communication paths

7
  • Ring Topology
  • All node performs same function
  • No leader node
  • Single direction data lost
  • Tree Topology
  • Msg. transmit in branch of trees
  • It checks leader node and their information

8
FULLY CONNECTED
CLASSIFICATION
MESH
9
  • Fully Connected
  • Additional nodes links increases
  • Routing problem occurs
  • Mesh Topology
  • Multi Hopping system
  • Nodes can communicate each other directly
  • Highly Power consumption
  • Increase latency

10
Hybrid Topology
  • Sensors are arrange in star around the routers
  • Routers around themselves in mesh form
  • Reliable ,low power consumption , many alternate
    communication paths
