  • How does the bible relate to our moral
    development and personhood?
  • We read the Old Testament in light of Christ
    crucified and risen.
  • The study of the Scriptures is the soul of sacred
    theology the bible is the Word of God
  • The 46 OT and 27 NT books nourish and govern the
    whole Christian life. OT prepares for the NT the
    NT fulfills the OT.

  • How is our humanity and personhood connected to
    faith?
  • By faith we completely submit our intellect and
    will to God.
  • Faith is a grace and a human act human
    intellect and will cooperate with divine grace.
  • Humankinds response to God by faith must be free
    we are not forced to accept faith against our
    will.
  • Faith is necessary for salvation.

  • What does it mean to be made in the image of God?
  • Humans are endowed with a spiritual and immortal
    soul.
  • By reason we can understand the order of creation
    by the Creator by our free will we can direct
    ourselves toward the good.
  • The true freedom given to us is an outstanding
    manifestation of the divine image.

  • What does it mean for humans to have a vocation
    of beatitude?
  • The Beatitudes are the heart of Jesus preaching
    and they respond to the natural desire for
    happiness that God has given to us.
  • God put us on earth to know, to love and to serve
    him and so to come to paradise.
  • The coming of the Kingdom of God, the vision of
    God, entering into the joy of the Lord, entering
    into Gods rest, are all expressions used to
    characterize the beatitude to which God calls man.
