Title: Anti Bullying Assembly Year Five

1
Anti Bullying Assembly Year Five
  • It is sad when a group of people gang up on
another. We will have seen this type of behaviour
amongst our friends and we all instinctively know
it is wrong. However, we often dont want to
speak out against such behaviour just in case we
too become a victim of bullying also.

  • When I was little and I went to school I learned
a saying called THE GOLDEN RULE.It's easy to
remember. It isn't hard at allAnd everyone
should know it, if you're big or if you're
small.ChorusDo unto others as you'd have them
do unto you, unto you.              Do unto
others as you'd have them do unto you.Just think
about the way that you'd like to be treatedAnd
treat the folks you meet that way.Now don't you
think the world could be a better placeIf
everyone would say -Chorus Do unto others as
you'd have them do unto you, unto
you.              Do unto others as you'd have
them do unto you.And if you're still not sure
what the saying is sayingIt simply means to stop
and think.Like if you're hogging all the water,
then maybe you just ought tostand aside and let
some other people drink.Chorus Do unto others
as you'd have them do unto you, unto
you.              Do unto others as you'd have
them do unto you. It's THE GOLDEN RULE. Practice
it in schoolWhere you work and where you playIt
sure could mean a lot if we share the love we've
gotThen everyone could stand up tall and say
-Chorus Do unto others as you'd have them do
unto you, unto you.              Do unto others
as you'd have them do unto you.

Anti Bullying Assembly Year Five
  • The person who is bullied feels frightened and
isolated. We as a class have looked at a story
told in the Gospel of John about a woman who had
betrayed her husband and the angry and
judgemental crowd wanted to stone her to death
even though they had all done wrong at some point
in their lives in their thought and in their
    actions.

  • It is hard to fight back when so many people are
against you, but in this event Jesus teaches us
that we should first look at our own wrong doing
before we bully and threaten others. Please
listen to what Jesus taught the angry crowd.

Anti Bullying Assembly Year Five
  • Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he
appeared again in the temple courts, where all
the people gathered around him, and he sat down
    to teach them.

  • The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought
in a woman caught in betraying her husband.

7

  • They made her stand before the group and said to
Jesus. Teacher, this woman was caught in the act
of betraying her husband. In the Law Moses
commanded us to stone such women. Now what do
    you say?

  • They were using this question as a trap, in order
to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent
down and started to write on the ground with his
finger. When they kept on questioning him, he
straightened up and said to them, Let any one
of you who is without sin be the first to throw a
    stone at her.

  • Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
  • At this, those who heard began to go away one at
a time (pause)the older ones first, until only
Jesus was left, with the woman still standing
there. Jesus straightened up and asked her,
Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned
    you?
  • No one, sir, she said. Then neither do I
condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now and leave
    your life of sin.

  • The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king
who decided to settle accounts with his servants.
They brought him a man who owed ten thousand
    talents.
  • SERVANT 1 - I have no money. I can't pay back ten
    thousand talents.
  • KING - Sell him, his wife, his children and all
their possessions to pay for what he owes me.
  • SERVANT 1 - I beg of you. Please give me some
time and I will pay the debt in full.
  • NARRATORS - The king felt sorry for him.
  • KING - Let him go! I shall forgive him. He no
    longer owes me anything.
  • SERVANT 1 - Thank you! Thank you, very much!

  • NARRATORS - As this servant left he happened to
meet a fellow servant who owed him one hundred
denarii. He grabbed the man by the throat and
    began to choke him.
  • SERVANT 1 - You owe me a hundred denarii. Pay me
    what you owe me.
  • SERVANT 2 - Please, give me some time and I will
    pay you back.
  • SERVANT 1 - No! I want my money now! Put him in
jail until he can repay me.
  • JESUS - All the other servants were very upset
and went to the king and reported what had
happened. The king sent for the unforgiving
    servant.

12

  • KING - You wicked man. I forgave the whole amount
you owed me. Yet, you did not have pity on
    another fellow servant.
  • NARRATORS - The king ordered that the first
servant be punished until he paid all of his
    debts.
  • JESUS - That is how my Heavenly Father will treat
you unless you forgive others from your heart.
  • NARRATORS - We must all look carefully at how we
treat one another. It is important that we
forgive one another and live together in peace.
We must never resort to bullying to get our own
    way.

  • To Love One Another
  • In the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit AmenHelp us love each other as
we love ourselves. May the Holy Spirit, who has
poured Your love into our hearts, give us Your
selfless love, for our love falls far short of
the mark. May we give ourselves to one
    anotherconsidering others more important than
ourselves, putting the others' interests ahead of
our own. Help us to treat each other the way we
would want to be treated in every
circumstanceMay our relationships be built on
these principlesfor if they are, what could ever
come between us? You always know what's best!In
    Jesus' name,
  • Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
