Title: Respect and honor all human beings irrespective of religion, color, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on [17:70]

1
Respect and honor all human beings
irrespective of religion, color, race, sex,
language, status, property, birth, profession/job
and so on 1770
  • Sahih International
  • And We have certainly honored the children of
Adam and carried them on the land and sea and
provided for them of the good things and
preferred them over much of what We have created,
    with definite preference.

2
Talk straight, to the point, without any
ambiguity or deception 3370
  • O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak
    words of appropriate justice.

3
Choose best words to speak and say them in the
best possible manner1753, 283
And tell My servants to say that which is best.
Indeed, Satan induces dissension among them.
Indeed Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy.
And recall when We took the covenant from the
Children of Israel, enjoining upon them, Do
not worship except Allah and to parents do good
and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And
speak to people good words and establish prayer
and give zakah. Then you turned away, except a
few of you, and you were refusing.
4
Do not shout. Speak politely, keeping your voice
low 3119
And be moderate in your pace and lower your
voice indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is
the voice of donkeys.
5
Always speak the truth. Shun words that are
deceitful and ostentatious 2230
That has been commanded, and whoever honors
the sacred ordinances of Allah - it is best for
him in the sight of his Lord. And permitted to
you are the grazing livestock, except what is
recited to you. So avoid the uncleanliness of
idols and avoid false statement,
6
Do not confound truth with falsehood 242
And do not mix the truth with falsehood or
conceal the truth while you know it.
7
Say with your mouth what is in your heart 3167
And that He might make evident those who are
hypocrites. For it was said to them, Come, fight
in the way of Allah or at least defend. They
said, If we had known there would be fighting,
we would have followed you. They were nearer to
disbelief that day than to faith, saying with
their mouths what was not in their hearts. And
Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal
8
Speak in a civilized manner in a language that is
recognized by the society and is commonly used
45
And do not give the weak-minded your property,
which Allah has made a means of sustenance for
you, but provide for them with it and clothe them
and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.
9
When you voice and opinion, be just , even if it
is against a relative 6152
And do not approach the orphan's property except
in a way that is best until he reaches maturity.
And give full measure and weight in justice. We
do not charge any soul except with that within
its capacity. And when you testify, be just, even
if it concerns a near relative. And the
covenant of Allah fulfill. This has He instructed
you that you may remember.
10
Do not be a bragging boaster 3118
And do not turn your cheek in contempt toward
people and do not walk through the earth
exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone
self-deluded and boastful.
11
Do not talk, listen or do any thing vain 233,
2855
  • And they who turn away from
    ill speech

And when they hear ill speech, they turn away
from it and say, For us are our deeds, and for
you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you we
seek not the ignorant."
12
Do not participate in any paltry. If you pass
near a futile play, then pass by with dignity
2572
  • And they are those who do not testify to
falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech,
    they pass by with dignity.

13
Do not verge upon any immodesty or lewdness
whether surreptitious or overt 6151
Say, Come, I will recite what your Lord has
prohibited to you. He commands that you not
associate anything with Him, and to parents, good
treatment, and do not kill your children out of
poverty We will provide for you and them. And do
not approach immoralities - what is apparent of
them and what is concealed. And do not kill the
soul which Allah has forbidden to be killed
except by legal right. This has He instructed
you that you may use reason."
14
If, unintentionally, any misconduct occurs by
you, then correct yourself expeditiously 3134
Who spend in the cause of Allah during ease
and hardship and who restrain anger and who
pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of
good
15
Do not be contemptuous or arrogant with people
3118
And do not turn your cheek in contempt toward
people and do not walk through the earth
exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone
self-deluded and boastful.
16
Do not walk haughtily or with conceit 1737,
3118
And do not walk upon the earth exultantly.
Indeed, you will never tear the earth apart,
and you will never reach the mountains in height.
And do not turn your cheek in contempt toward
people and do not walk through the earth
exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone
self-deluded and boastful
17
Be moderate in thy pace 3119
And be moderate in your pace and lower your
voice indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is
the voice of donkeys."
18
Walk with humility and sedateness 2563
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those
who walk upon the earth easily, and when the
ignorant address them harshly, they say words
of peace,
19
Keep your gazes lowered, devoid of any lecherous
leers and salacious stares 2430, 4019
Tell the believing men to reduce some of
their vision and guard their private parts. That
is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted
with what they do.
He knows that which deceives the eyes and what
the breasts conceal.
20
If you do not have complete knowledge about
anything, better to keep your mouth shut. You
might think that speaking about something without
knowledge is a trivial matter, but it might have
consequences 2415-16
When you received it with your tongues and said
with your mouths that of which you had no
knowledge and thought it was insignificant while
it was, in the sight of Allah , tremendous.
And why, when you heard it, did you not say, It
is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You,
O Allah this is a great slander?
21
When you hear something malicious about someone,
keep a favorable view about him/her until you
attain full knowledge about the matter. Consider
others innocent until they are proven guilty with
solid and truthful evidence 2412-13
Why, when you heard it, did not the believing
men and believing women think good of one another
and say, This is an obvious falsehood?
Why did they who slandered not produce for it
four witnesses? And when they do not produce the
witnesses, then it is they, in the sight of Allah
, who are the liars.
22
Ascertain the truth of any news, lest you smite
someone in ignorance and afterwards repent of
what you did 496
O you who have believed, if there comes to you a
disobedient one with information, investigate,
lest you harm a people out of ignorance and
become, over what you have done, regretful.
23
Do not follow blindly any information of which
you have no direct knowledge. (Using your
faculties of perception) you must verify it for
yourself. In the Court of your Lord, you will be
held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the
faculty of reasoning 1736
And do not pursue that of which you have no
knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the
heart - about all those one will be questioned.
24
Never think that you have reached the final stage
of knowledge and think that nobody knows more
than yourself. 1276. Even the Prophet (SAW)
was asked to keep praying, O my Sustainer!
Advance me in knowledge. 20114
So he began the search with their bags before
the bag of his brother then he extracted it from
the bag of his brother. Thus did We plan for
Joseph. He could not have taken his brother
within the religion of the king except that Allah
willed. We raise in degrees whom We will, but
over every possessor of knowledge is one more
knowing.
So high above all is Allah , the Sovereign,
the Truth. And, O Muhammad, do not hasten with
recitation of the Qur'an before its revelation
is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase
me in knowledge."
25
The believers are but a single brotherhood. Live
like members of one family, brothers and sisters
unto one another 4910
The believers are but brothers, so make
settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah
that you may receive mercy.
26
Do not make mockery or ridicule others 4911
O you who have believed, let not a people
ridicule another people perhaps they may be
better than them nor let women ridicule other
women perhaps they may be better than them. And
do not insult one another and do not call each
other by offensive nicknames. Wretched is the
name of disobedience after one's faith. And
whoever does not repent - then it is those who
are the wrongdoers.
27
Do not defame others4911
O you who have believed, let not a people
ridicule another people perhaps they may be
better than them nor let women ridicule other
women perhaps they may be better than them. And
do not insult one another and do not call each
other by offensive nicknames. Wretched is the
name of disobedience after one's faith. And
whoever does not repent - then it is those who
are the wrongdoers.
28
Do not insult others by using nicknames 4911
O you who have believed, let not a people
ridicule another people perhaps they may be
better than them nor let women ridicule other
women perhaps they may be better than them. And
do not insult one another and do not call each
other by offensive nicknames. Wretched is the
name of disobedience after one's faith. And
whoever does not repent - then it is those who
are the wrongdoers.
29
Avoid suspicion and guesswork, they may deplete
your communal energy 4912
O you who have believed, avoid much negative
assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And
do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of
you like to eat the flesh of his brother when
dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah
indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and
Merciful.
30
Spy not upon one another 4912
O you who have believed, avoid much negative
assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And
do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of
you like to eat the flesh of his brother when
dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah
indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and
Merciful.
31
Do not backbite one another 4912
O you who have believed, avoid much negative
assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And
do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of
you like to eat the flesh of his brother when
dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah
indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and
Merciful.
32
When you meet each other, offer good wishes and
blessings for safety. One who conveys to you a
message of safety and security, and also when a
courteous greeting is offered to you, meet it
with a greeting still more courteous or (at
least) of equal courtesy 486
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet
in return with one better than it or at least
return it in a like manner. Indeed, Allah is
ever, over all things, an Accountant.
33
When you enter your own home, or the home of
someone else, compliment the residents 2461
There is not upon the blind any constraint nor
upon the lame constraint nor upon the ill
constraint nor upon yourselves when you eat from
your own houses or the houses of your fathers
or the houses of your mothers or the houses of
your brothers or the houses of your sisters or
the houses of your father's brothers or the
houses of your father's sisters or the houses of
your mother's brothers or the houses of your
mother's sisters or from houses whose keys you
possess or from the house of your friend. There
is no blame upon you whether you eat together or
separately. But when you enter houses, give
greetings of peace upon each other - a greeting
from Allah , blessed and good. Thus does Allah
make clear to you the verses of ordinance that
you may understand
34
Do not enter houses other than your own until you
have sought permission and then, greet the
residents and wish them a life of blessings,
purity and pleasure 2427
O you who have believed, do not enter houses
other than your own houses until you ascertain
welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best
for you perhaps you will be reminded.
35
Treat kindly- Your parents, relatives, the
orphans, and those who have been left alone in
the society 436
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him,
and to parents do good, and to relatives,
orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the
neighbor farther away, the companion at your
side, the traveler, and those whom your right
hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those
who are self-deluding and boastful.
36
Take care of the needy, the disabled, those whose
hard earned income is insufficient to meet their
needs- and those whose business have stalled- and
those who have lost their jobs 436
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him,
and to parents do good, and to relatives,
orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the
neighbor farther away, the companion at your
side, the traveler, and those whom your right
hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those
who are self-deluding and boastful.
37
Treat kindly- your related and unrelated
neighbors- companions by your side in public
gatherings, or public transportation. 436
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him,
and to parents do good, and to relatives,
orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the
neighbor farther away, the companion at your
side, the traveler, and those whom your right
hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those
who are self-deluding and boastful.
38
Be generous to the needy wayfarer, the homeless
son of the street, and the one who reaches you in
a destitute condition 436
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him,
and to parents do good, and to relatives,
orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the
neighbor farther away, the companion at your
side, the traveler, and those whom your right
hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those
who are self-deluding and boastful.
39
Be nice to people who work under your care 436
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him,
and to parents do good, and to relatives,
orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the
neighbor farther away, the companion at your
side, the traveler, and those whom your right
hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those
who are self-deluding and boastful.
40
Do not follow up what you have given to others by
afflicting them with reminders of your
generosity 2262
Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah
and then do not follow up what they have spent
with reminders of it or other injury will
have their reward with their Lord, and there will
be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
41
Do not expect a return for your good behavior,
not even thanks 769
Saying, We feed you only for the countenance
of Allah . We wish not from you reward or
gratitude.
42
Cooperate with each other in good deeds and do
not cooperate with others in evil and bad matters
52
O you who have believed, do not violate the
rites of Allah or the sanctity of the sacred
month or neglect the marking of the sacrificial
animals and garlanding them or violate the
safety of those coming to the Sacred House
seeking bounty from their Lord and His
approval. But when you come out of ihram, then
you may hunt. And do not let the hatred of a
people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid
al-Haram lead you to transgress. And cooperate in
righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in
sin and aggression. And fear Allah indeed,
Allah is severe in penalty.
43
Do not try to impress people on account of
self-proclaimed virtues 5332
Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities,
only committing slight ones. Indeed, your Lord
is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of
you when He produced you from the earth and when
you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So
do not claim yourselves to be pure He is most
knowing of who fears Him.
44
You should enjoin right conduct on others but
mend your own ways first. Actions speak louder
than words. You must first practice good deeds
yourself, then preach 244
Do you order righteousness of the people and
forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture?
Then will you not reason?
45
Correct yourself and those close to you first
(before trying to correct others) 666
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and
your families from a Fire whose fuel is people
and stones, over which are appointed angels,
harsh and severe they do not disobey Allah in
what He commands them but do what they are
commanded.
46
Pardon carefully, if anyone among you commits a
bad deed out of ignorance, and then repents and
amends 654, 3134
And when those come to you who believe in Our
verses, say, Peace be upon you. Your Lord has
decreed upon Himself mercy that any of you who
does wrong out of ignorance and then repents
after that and corrects himself - indeed, He is
Forgiving and Merciful."
Who spend in the cause of Allah during ease
and hardship and who restrain anger and who
pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of
good
47
Divert and sublimate your anger and potentially
virulent emotions to creative energy, and become
a source of tranquility and comfort to people
3134
Who spend in the cause of Allah during ease
and hardship and who restrain anger and who
pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of
good
48
Call people to the way of your Lord with wisdom
and beautiful exhortation. Reason with them most
decently. 16125
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and
good instruction, and argue with them in a way
that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing
of who has strayed from His way, and He is most
knowing of who is rightly guided.
49
Leave to themselves those who do not give any
importance to the Divine code and have adopted
and consider it a mere play and amusement 670
And leave those who take their religion as
amusement and diversion and whom the worldly life
has deluded. But remind with the Qur'an, lest a
soul be given up to destruction for what it
earned it will have other than Allah no
protector and no intercessor. And if it should
offer every compensation, it would not be taken
from it. Those are the ones who are given to
destruction for what they have earned. For them
will be a drink of scalding water and a painful
punishment because they used to disbelieve.
50
Unless they engage in some other conversation,
sit not in the company of those who ridicule the
Divine Law. 4140
And it has already come down to you in the Book
that when you hear the verses of Allah recited,
they are denied by them and ridiculed so do
not sit with them until they enter into another
conversation. Indeed, you would then be like
them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and
disbelievers in Hell all together
51
Be not be jealous of those who are blessed 454
Or do they envy people for what Allah has given
them of His bounty? But we had already given the
family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and
conferred upon them a great kingdom.
52
In your collective life, make room for others
5811
O you who have believed, when you are told,
Space yourselves in assemblies, then make
space Allah will make space for you. And when
you are told, Arise, then arise Allah will
raise those who have believed among you and those
who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah
is Acquainted with what you do.
53
When invited to dine, go at the appointed time.
Do not arrive too early to wait for the meal
preparation or linger after eating and engage in
bootless babble. Such things may cause
inconvenience to the host. 3353
O you who have believed, do not enter the houses
of the Prophet except when you are permitted for
a meal, without awaiting its readiness. But when
you are invited, then enter and when you have
eaten, disperse without seeking to remain for
conversation. Indeed, that behavior was
troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of
dismissing you. But Allah is not shy of the
truth. And when you ask his wives for
something, ask them from behind a partition. That
is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it
is not conceivable or lawful for you to harm
the Messenger of Allah or to marry his wives
after him, ever. Indeed, that would be in the
sight of Allah an enormity.
54
In moderation, eat and drink (what is lawful).
731
O children of Adam, take your adornment at every
masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive.
Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.
55
Do not squander your wealth senselessly 1726
And give the relative his right, and also the
poor and the traveler, and do not spend
wastefully
56
Fulfill your promises and commitments 1734
And do not approach the property of an orphan,
except in the way that is best, until he reaches
maturity. And fulfill every commitment. Indeed,
the commitment is ever that about which one will
be questioned.
57
Keep yourself clean, pure. 9108, 443
Do not stand for prayer within it - ever. A
mosque founded on righteousness from the first
day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it
are men who love to purify themselves and Allah
loves those who purify themselves.
O you who have believed, do not approach prayer
while you are intoxicated until you know what you
are saying or in a state of janabah, except those
passing through a place of prayer, until you
have washed your whole body. And if you are ill
or on a journey or one of you comes from the
place of relieving himself or you have contacted
women and find no water, then seek clean earth
and wipe over your faces and your hands with
it. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and
Forgiving.
58
Dress-up in agreeable attire and adorn yourself
with exquisite character from inside out 726
O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you
clothing to conceal your private parts and as
adornment. But the clothing of righteousness -
that is best. That is from the signs of Allah
that perhaps they will remember.
59
Seek your provision only by fair endeavor.
2917, 2188
You only worship, besides Allah , idols, and you
produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship
besides Allah do not possess for you the power
of provision. So seek from Allah provision and
worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you
will be returned."
And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly
or send it in bribery to the rulers in order
that they might aid you to consume a portion
of the wealth of the people in sin, while you
know it is unlawful.
60
Do not unjustly devour the wealth and property of
others, nor bribe the officials or the judges to
deprive others of their possession. 2188
And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly
or send it in bribery to the rulers in order
that they might aid you to consume a portion
of the wealth of the people in sin, while you
know it is unlawful.
