• Adding ion and -ian

Base t and adding-ion

• When a word ends in the letter t you can add the
  suffix ion without a change in spelling to the
  base word.

• To convert food for the body to use.
• I hope I can digest all that candy!
• My digestion system helps my body have energy.

Interrupt/Interruption

• To interfere with action or speech.
• Do you think the geese will interrupt the race?
• The geeses interruption caused the race to be
  delayed.

• To drain of strength/energy or to wear out.
• How long will it take to exhaust the polar bear?
• The polar bear was overcome with exhaustion.

• To create a product.
• I wonder how long it took to invent the Nintendo
  DSi.
• Who will create the next electronic invention?

Suggest/Suggestion

• To mention an idea for consideration.
• I was about to suggest that we go outside for
  recess at 1000.
• Does anyone have a suggestion for where to place
  our new computer?

Adopt/Adoption

• To choose or take as ones own.
• I am going to adopt a little puppy.
• Since the puppy has no home it is up for adoption.

• When a word ends in ic you can add the suffix ian
  without making a change in spelling of the base
  word.

• Music is an art of sound and a musician performs
  it.
• Louis Armstrong played jazz music.
• He was the greatest jazz musician that ever lived!

• To involve electricity.
• You need an electric current in order for your
  lights to turn on.
• When your power goes out, an electrician can help
  fix it so it will turn back on.

• Having to do with the eye or sight.
• If the optic nerve is damaged you may go blind.
• The optician will check your eyes to see if you
  need glasses.

Clinic/Clinician

• A clinic is a place that treats sick people and a
  clinician is the doctor or nurse.
• If you have the flu go to the clinic.
• The clinician will exam you to see why you are
  sick.
