Increasing Self-Sufficiency

• SCSEP is designed to increase an older
  individuals self-sufficiency.
• SSAI believes that self-sufficiency is difficult
  to define because it is more than just economics.
• Self-sufficiency also includes a combination of
  the physical, mental, emotional and social
  factors that constitute an individuals holistic
  well-being.

Promoting Personal Growthand Development

• As an aging program, SCSEP increases
  opportunities for lifelong learning through
  community service.
• SSAIs Innovations Grant maximizes these
  opportunities with additional means of civic
  engagement.

Reaching Beyond SCSEP!
The SSAI Innovations Projects are implementing a
holistic approach that goes beyond SCSEP. They
endeavor to fulfill the untapped potential at the
core of SCSEPs multiple missions, thus
strengthening civic engagement and increasing
self-sufficiency.
