Schist (Shhh-ist)
Any of various medium-grained to coarse-grained
metamorphic rocks composed of laminated, often
flaky parallel layers of chiefly micaceous
minerals.
Schists can come from muds and clays that undergo
the metamorphic process. Schists are typically
named for the prominent mineral thats in it,
such as garnet schist or a mica schist.
