OverviewThis training is the first in a series
of trainings to get you prepared and qualified to
respond in an emergency. This orientation course
is not intended to be inclusive of everything you
need to know, but it is designed to introduce you
to the subject and your responsibility as a
county employee during an emergency.

2Instructions
- This course is divided into six video segments
ranging from two to six minutes in length. You
may complete the segments in one sitting or as
time allows. A ten question quiz (Section 8) is
provided at the end of this course to test your
knowledge of the subject matter. Quiz results
are not recorded. Please print the certificate
for your records, at the end of this training and
submit to rhendry_at_co.slo.ca.us. There is a
submit by email button on the certificate for
your convenience. - Required Training (Section 7)A link to the
required Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) training are included in Section 7. Please
make a note of this link (or bookmark in your
browser) The FEMA courses must be completed
within 30 days of your hire date.
