Write a Childrens Book

Tell a story

• Step 1 think of a character and plot, and then
  create a storyboard
• Step 2 write a simple story using vocabulary
  from the book
• Step 3 draw and color pictures that go along
  with the story
• Step 4 construct a book and present!

Guidelines for story

• Write in the present tense (not past/preterite!)
• write in 3rd person!
• Write about person, animal, or food
• 4 physical and/or personality characteristics
• 3 activities like/not like to do
• 2 secondary characters family member or friend
• Follow a vocabulary theme from units 0-7
• Story must be at least 10 pages with at least 3
  sentences on each page
• Otherwise, you have freedom!

Constructing the book

• Draw/find pictures that go along with story for
  each page color them!
• Design a cover
• Optional dedication page
• Last page EL FIN
• You may make the story on a tablet
• Picturebook, Storymaker, iBook Author ???

Individual or Partner Project

• No more than two people.
• If you work in a group, divide work evenly for
  writing and pictures.
