What You Need to Know About Parking During Home
Time
  • Subject to your Fleet Managers approval, if you
have an active status, you are allowed to drive
    company equipment to/from your principle
residence and/or designated home time location
unless prohibited by local zoning regulations.
  • You are required to send Macro 39.
  • If you are off duty for more than 96 hours
without permission, you will be required to
secure the equipment at a designated service
center and remove all of your personal effects.
The tractor will be subject to reassignment.

Macro 39
What is Macro 39?
  • Macro 39 lets dispatch know that you have arrived
at a location and that the equipment is
unattended. Examples include while on home time,
stopped at a truck stop eating, showering, etcIf
you are going to be out and away from your truck
for any length of time, you are to send in Macro
    39.

Home Time Parking Best Practices
  1. Once you arrive at the approved location you must
send a Macro 39 (Unattended Equipment) to notify
Dispatch that you have arrived at the U.S. Xpress
approved location. Failure to do so will result
in Dispatch contacting you to go back to the
approved location to send a Macro 39.
  2. The tractor and trailer are to remain connected
while parked at the approved location.
  3. Lock the tractor and take the keys with you. Do
not leave any keys with the equipment.

Home Time Parking Best Practices
  • If available, back the trailer against a fixed
object, such as a utility pole, wall, etc., to
prevent the trailer doors from being opened.
  • Once parked, set the trailer brakes, then tug
forward with the tractor to put tension on the
5th wheel. Next, set the tractor brakes this
will create enough tension on the 5th wheel to
make it difficult to release the kingpin from
    outside the tractor.
  • Do not discuss the contents of the trailer or the
location of the equipment with anyone.
