Albrecht Dürer
  • He is German painter, wood carver, engraver, and
    mathematician.
  • He is best know for his woodcuts in series,
    including the Apocalypse (1498), two series on
    the crucifixion of Christ, the Great Passion
    (1498-1510) and Little Passion (1510-1511) as
    well as many of his individual prints, such as
    Knight, Death, and the Devil. He also made the
    Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
