Tree Diagrams
  • A tree diagram is an organized list that can help
you determine the number of possible outcomes.
  • You start off a tree diagram by making branches
for each outcome of the first event.
  • Off of each of those branches are the different
    outcomes for the second event.
  • This continues until youve drawn branches for
    all of the different events.

different kinds of cones you can choose from and
four types of ice cream. The four types of ice
cream are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and
    mint.

    outcomes.
  • List each possible outcome.
  • What is the probability that both spins will land
    on red?
  • What is the probability of spinning two different
    colors?
