Mongols, (the main enemy of the ancient and
medieval Chinese) treated Chinese merchants on
the Silk Road very well. Thats odd because
usually, when a country takes over another
country. The enemy of the stronger country is
usually treated like dirt! Not in this case!

China treats their merchants badly. They are the
target of heavy taxing. If youre helping the
country earn money, why are you being taxed?
China wanted more control over merchants then
them Mongols. The Mongols let them trade freely
but the Chinese didnt.

silver and other European goods. They also traded
porcelain, which is special kind of clay often
painted with blue designs. With this very fancy
designs, the Chinese merchants often earned more
