The Taj Mahal
  • Located in Agra, India
  • Built between 1632-1653 by Shah Jahan in memory
    of his third wife.
  • The Taj Mahal holds the 2 tombs that holds the
    couple.
  • Attracts 2-4 millon people a year.

Petra
  • A historical city located in Maan Governorate,
    Jordan.
  • Established around 7000 BCE as the capital of
    the Nabataeans (the ancient people of Jordan)
  • Jordans most visited tourist attraction.

Machu Picchu
  • Located in the Cuzco Region, Peru
  • A pre-Columbian 15th century Inca site.
  • The estate was bulit around 1450 CE.
  • Believed to be bulit for the Inca emperor
    Pachacuti.

The Great Wall of China
  • Located in Bejing, China.
  • Started construction in 200s BCE, under order
    of Qin Shi Huang (first Chinese emperor).
  • There is no official end to the wall but it took
    about 2,000 years to get to the size it is.
  • 5,500.3 mi long
  • So long that you can see it from space.
  • Made originally to protect the northern borders
    of the Chinese Empire.

  • Located in Rome, Italy
  • Bulit between 72-80 CE.
  • Bulit as an amphitheatre (used for gladiatorial
    contests, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments
    of famous battles, and dramas based on classical
    mythology).
  • One of Romes most popular tourist attraction.
  • Has close connections with the Roman Catholic
    Church.

Christ the Redeemer
  • Located in Rio de Janerio, Brazil
  • Built between 1922-1931
  • 5th largest Jesus statue in the world.
  • 130 ft tall
  • Cost 250,000 which is equivalent to 3,068,097
    (now)
  • A symbol of Peace.

Chichen Itza
  • Located in Yucatán, Mexico
  • A pre-Columbian city bulit by the Mayans.
  • One of the largest Mayan city.
  • Believe to be founded as early as 600 CE.
  • Mexicos second most visited archaeological
    site.
