Barnaby Visits Egypt

• Egypt is in Africa

Barnaby travelled to Egypt on a plane. He
travelled from Manchester airport and the journey
took 5 ½ hours. When he got off the plane at 5pm
it was very, very hot!!!!

Barnaby spent the first day on the beach as he
was tired. It was hot and sunny and he saw 10
blue spotted Stingrays.

• Barnaby liked Sharks Bay.

Barnaby also liked sun bathing on by the pool. He
wore his sun glasses because it was very sunny.

• When Barnaby got too hot he had a swim in the
  pool.

Barnaby went shopping in a big city called Cairo.
He bought some souvenirs to take home. The city
was crowded and busy.

Barnaby also went to a museum where he saw lots
of statues and King Tutankhamen's mask and
coffin.

• The mask was made of solid gold and weighed 10
  kilograms.

After Barnaby had been to the museum he went to
see the pyramids.

He went into one of the pyramids to see inside
the tomb.

It was hot and dark inside the pyramid.

After he had seen the pyramid Barnaby went to see
the sphinx.

The sphinx were built to protect the tomb in the
pyramid. This sphinx was built more than three
thousand years old.

Barnaby learnt a lot about the ancient Egyptians
while he was in Egypt. He also had a good time on
the beach.
