Title: Supplemental Figure S4. Sequence alignment of Arabidopsis ATM1, ATM2 and ATM3 and related proteins.
1Supplemental Figure S4. Sequence alignment of
Arabidopsis ATM1, ATM2 and ATM3 and related
proteins. Sequences of ABC transporters of the
mitochondria (ATMs) and other ABC transporters
from different species were aligned using the
CLUSTALW algorithm. Only part of the alignment is
shown. At, Arabidopsis thaliana Sc,
Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Vv, Vitis vinifera
Pp, Populus trichocarpa Rc, Ricinus communis
Os, Oryza sativa Japonica group Ppp,
Physcomitrella patens Cr, Chlamydomonas
reinhardtii Hs, Homo sapiens Dr, Danio
rerio Ce, Caenorhabditis elegans Sa,
Staphylococcus aureus. For full size tranporters
(MDR), N- and C-terminal parts of the protein
were aligned (indicated as -1 and -2,
respectively). The alignment was edited using
Jalview multiple sequence alignment editor.
Colouring reflects the degree of conservation.
The arginine residue mentioned in this study
(R612 of AtATM3) is strictly conserved in the ATM
family (highlighted in red). The position of the
x-loop, the ABC signature and the Walker B motif
is also indicated.
