WHY WAS THERE LITTLE OPPOSITION?
  • The Nazis faced relatively little opposition
during their twelve years under Hitlers command.
Germans complained about the regime and serious
criticism was always made in private. ALL THE
NAZIS MAIN OPPONENTS WERE KILLED, EXILED OR PUT
    IN PRISON.

    to Hitler
  • Economic recovery was deeply appreciated.
  • Many felt that the Nazis were bringing some much
    needed discipline back to Germany.
  • Between 1933 and 1938 Hitlers success in foreign
affairs made Germans feel that their country was
    a great power.

    bad things that were happening.
  • Propanganda was important in maintaining Hitlers
    image.

THE JULY BOMB PLOT
  • In 1944 it was known that Germany would lose the
    war.
  • On 20 July, the coronel Count non Staffenberg
left a bomb in Hitlers conference room, his plan
was to kill Hitler. Finally, it failed and the
    Nazis took a terrible revenge.

12
HOW DID THE NAZIS DEAL WITH CHURCHES?
13
  • The relationship between the Church and the Nazis
was complicated. Hitler signed a contract that
said that he would leave the Catholic Church
alone and allowed them to keep control of their
    schools.
  • Hitler tried to get all of the Protestant
churches to come together and create one official
    Reich Church.

14
  • The problem between Hitler and the church was
that Hitler wanted to eliminate jews, which the
church would obvoiusly not allow, so there were
arguements and fears from both parts.
