4- This is a major achievement because Daniel had to
learn a new language and culture. - He didnt have the advantage of being at home.
- He had to overcome the disadvantages of being
an outsider.
5- Prosperity can entice you into a spiritual
slumber. - We forget the natural worlds temporary, that
Babylon is returning to dust. - Sometimes blessings cause us to forget.

Over- coming Lethargy
71. Dont forget the eternal purpose of why
were here. Were Gods agents to bring
redemption to a dying world
8A passionate love for God and people is the
antidote for lethargy
92. Redemption is the answer
Daniel knew God had sent him to Babylon
10God wants us to be like salt in a decaying world
11- Daniel loved Israel, but he understood the
Kingdom of God was greater than Jerusalem.
12Personal pride tries to make us believe lifes
about Jerusalem
But lifes about God and His Kingdom
13Daniel could see the idolatrous nature of man.

But he understood "the heavens rule."
17- 3. God placed us in our Babylon to be His
witness. - We are Gods ambassadors.
18We are Gods light in a darkened world
19The Emphasis Adjustment
- Daniel discovered from the book of Jeremiah that
the seventy years of Babylonian captivity had
been fulfilled and began praying for God to
restore the Jews to Jerusalem. Daniel 92
20It was good that Daniel prayed
21But his emphasis needed changing
22God showed him he was looking backward when he
should have been looking forward to the coming
Messiah! Daniel 925
23Daniel stopped looking back at slavery and
started looking forward to the coming Savior!
24Daniel saw the Kingdom of God
