II. Development of Height and Weight

• The most dramatic gains in height and weight
  occur before an infants birth
• -during first eight weeks the baby develops
  fingers, toes, eyes, ears, a nose, a mouth, a
  heart, and circulatory system

  goes from a microscopic cell to a baby of about
  20 inches in length

• Motor development is the development of
