CURRICULUM PROGRAMMING
Students are programmed based on 2014 FCAT
standardized test scores. In June, 2015 FSA
scores will be reviewed and adjustments may be
made to student schedules at this time.

The CC/Wheel The "wheel" is made up of the
"spokes" or short exploratory courses that
students rotate through during a semester. These
introductory courses provide students with the
opportunity to explore interests and personal
talents.

Parent Information

Grade Reporting Report Cards are mailed home approximately three weeks after the end of the 9 weeks. Interim Reports Will be sent home halfway through the 9 weeks. Teachers will update EDSBY every two weeks. School Hours School begins at 900. Classes are 50 minutes in length. School ends at 415 A before and after a school program is available for students for a weekly fee. Before school care begins at 700 a.m. After school ends at 600 p.m. School Supplies Each student will be required to purchase a planner. This is used to record classwork, homework and teacher communication. Students will also be required to purchase a 3 inch 3 ring binder. Other supplies may be required by classroom teachers. Sports Program 1st nine weeks Boys and Girls Basketball 2nd nine weeks Boys and Girls Track 3rd nine weeks Boys and Girls Soccer 4th nine weeks Boys Flag Football and Girls Volleyball

Promotion Policy
  • Sixth grade students must pass language arts,
    mathematics, science and social studies to be
    promoted to seventh grade.
  • Grading Scale
  • A 90-100
  • B80-89 C70-79
  • D60-69 F0-59
  • All middle school courses require either a
    semester exam or a state End of Course (EOC)
    exam.
  • The 9 weeks grade and semester exam grades will
    appear separately on the report card.
  • To pass a semester course a student must earn a
    minimum of a D average for the semester grade and
    pass at least one 9 weeks.
  • The semester grade is determined by averaging
    both 9 weeks grades AND the semester exam. 6th
    grade semester exams are weighted 15 of grade.

classes? How much contact am I going to have
with the 7th and 8th graders? Where do I go if I
am having trouble with other students? What kind
of homework and how much of it am I going to
have? How much time will I get for lunch? Will
I still see my friends from elementary
school? Do I have to dress out for Physical
Education?
