Port Community Fund
  • Established in 2008 by 12 local shipping and
    transport businesses to help co-ordinate their
    giving to causes close to home
  • Port Community Fund provides the opportunity for
    your business to
  • Increase the effectiveness of charitable giving
  • Achieve greater publicity
  • Reduce the administrative cost associated with
    giving
  • Through partnership working the Port Community
    Fund has
  • Had great success raising far larger funds
    collectively
  • Built closer and more supportive relations with
    the local community
  • Received greater recognition for the good work
    done by its partners
  • Helped local causes in Felixstowe and Ipswich

  • New Beginnings
  • To provide information and initial assessment
    advice visits for young people from the
    Felixstowe and Ipswich area who have been
    sexually abused
  • Ipswich Winter Night Shelter
  • Towards the cost of running the shelter,
    providing a safe and warm place for the homeless
    during the 3 coldest winter months
  • Suffolk Accident Rescue Service
  • To enable the group to continue providing support
    to the emergency services, with voluntary doctors
    and paramedics on hand to respond to serious
    incidents

  • Towards the costs of building an outdoor sensory
    classroom at the centre in Suffolk for children
    with cerebral palsy
  • FIND (Families in Need)
  • To purchase non-perishable food and food vouchers
    for the food bank in Ipswich, supporting
    individuals and families at a time of crisis
  • East Suffolk Association for the Blind
  • To purchase daily living aids for visually
    impaired members in the Felixstowe area
