• 1. Javier is examining his upper lip in the
  mirror to see whether hes starting to grow a
  mustache yet. Someone knocks on the door, and
  Javier blushes and jumps.

• 2. The sun had already come through my window.
  Id slept through the alarm, and Mom must have
  decided not to make me up. I looked at the bunk
  bed below me, my brother was asleep too. Looks
  like we were going to be late to school.

  when she ran into two of her friends from school.
  They all decided to go to the park together to

Conversion 1

• It was the first day of school and I
  was so nervous. We just moved from Washington to
  San Francisco, and I did not know anyone. Mom and
  Dad dropped me off in the morning and Mom gave me
  a kiss on the cheek. I was so embarrassed, I hope
  no one saw.

• James was completely silent. He crouched
  down behind the garbage cans afraid to breathe.
  Who was that masked figure sneaking through his
  garbage cans? Suddenly, his nose started
  tingling. Ah, ah, ah-choo! he sneezed.
