Abstract
Automated system of radiation safety control
(ASRSC) of linear electron accelerator LINAC-800
is designed for staff securing during regular
accelerator operation and in emergency cases.
Emission power calculation results used in ASRSC
development are given. Both hardware and software
components of radiation control system are
described. Also, interlock and signalization
system description is presented.

Introduction
Linear accelerator of electrons LINAC-800 is
based on a part of accelerator equipment which
was transferred to the possession of JINR by The
National Institute for Nuclear Physics and High
Energy Physics (NIKHEF, Amsterdam). It should be
mentioned, that radiation control equipment was
not transferred because it is not certified for
usage in Russia.

    pcs., the range of registered photon energies is
    0.16 5 MeV)
  • UDBN-01-01 neutron radiation detection devices
    (2 pcs., the range of measurement of the power of
    ambient dose eqivalent is 0.1 104 uSv/h, the
    range of registered energies is 0.025 eV 14

  • BPK-02 power supply and commutation unit
  • Computer with an uninterruptible power supply
  • RadCtrl software
  • RS-485 serial communication line
  • DKS-AT1123 portable X-ray and gamma radiation
    dosimeter (the range of registered energies is
    0.015 10 ??? the range of measurement of the
    power of ambient dose eqivalent is 50 nSv/h 10
    Sv/h for continuous radiation and 0.1 uSv/h 10
    Sv/h for pulse radiation with pulse length of 10
    ns and longer).

  • Software has the following features
  • Current readout of all ASRSC LINAC-800 detection
    units displaying both in graphic and numeric
    form.
  • Threshold crossing signalization.
  • Detector disconnect signalization.
  • Object scheme displaying possibility.
  • Measurements archive for chosen detector
    possibility. Archive can be saved in MS Excel
    format.
  • Thresholds changing, scale changing
    (linear/logarithmic).

Interlock and signalization system
  • Interlock and signalization system is designed
    for continuous work due accelerator complex
    operation and should answer the following
    purposes
  • Staff entrance in zones with increased ionizing
    radiation level prevention
  • Staff warning about possible radiation danger by
    sound and light signalization.

Conslusion
  • Detectors of ASRSC of linear electron
    accelerator LINAC-800 have been calibrated and
    checked at JINR Radiation Safety Department
  • ASCRC has been mounted in bld. 118 of Laboratory
    of Neutron Physics and have been put into
    operational testing.
