  • A general term used to describe any disorder
    involving a severe disturbance in eating
    behaviour
  • Anorexia Nervosa An eating disorder that
    involves persistent refusal to maintain
    body weight at or above a normal level,
    intense fear of weight gain, a
    distorted perception of body image, the
    absence of menstruation and extreme
    concern with body shape and weight
  • Both physiological and psychological factors are
    thought to play a role in the development of
    anorexia
