1This is a project grade and the following rubric
will be used to assess your work. 0 The student
did not meet the standard of understanding the
relationship among scale factors nor representing
the meaning of similarity. 1-2 The student
applies, with some guidance skills learned in
class to write a proportion which represents the
scale factor of the actual figure and model. The
student recognizes a simple pattern of
corresponding sides. 3-4 The student selects and
applies skills learned in class to write a
proportion which represents the scale factor of
the actual figure and model. The student
recognizes the relationship between the
corresponding sides and suggests a general rule.
The student uses Cornell notes, textbook, etc. as
a guide. 5-6 The student selects and applies
skills learned in class to write a proportion
which represents the scale factor of the actual
figure and model. The student describes the
relationship between the corresponding sides and
identifies the general rule. The student is able
to sketch or print a scale model and makes
conclusions about the dimensions shown. The
student uses Cornell notes, textbook, or other
primary source as a guide. 7-8 The student
selects and applies skills learned in class to
write a proportion which represents the scale
factor of the actual figure and model. The
student describes the relationship between the
corresponding sides and identifies the general
rule. The student is able to sketch, print, or
build a scale model and makes conclusions about
the dimensions shown. The student uses
information in Cornell notes, textbook, or other
primary source as justification or proof to
support dimensions in scale drawing.

3El Castillo
4The Empire State Building
5Eiffel Tower
6Golden Gate Bridge
7Great Pyramid of Giza
8- For your Wondrous Choice, you must
- Tell the location (city, country)
- Give the Actual Dimensions
- Determine a Scale Factor
- Create a scale model or scale drawing
- Your project is due on Thursday, February 25, 2010
