STIMULANTS
  • Drugs that speed up the central nervous system.
    Commonly abused stimulants are Amphetamines and
    Methamphetmines and cocaine. The nicotine in
    tabacco and caffeine in coffee, colas, tea and
    chocolate are also well know as stimulants.

  • The pyschological effects include moodiness,

  • Some people use them to stay awake or improve
    athletic performance. This makes them dangerous
    as a person will develop a tolerance for them as
    well as a craving

  • A drug that tends to slow down the central
    nervous system
  • Alcohol , barbiturates, tranquilizers, and
    methaqualone are forms of depressants.
  • These drugs will relax the muscles, relieve
    feelings of tension and sleep. They are known to
    be a dependent drug.

    sedative effect.
