Is the voter in the correct Polling Place?
  • If not, determine the correct polling place and
    direct the voter to the correct location
  • Review County materials for locating polling
    places early on Election Day

Does the voter have acceptable ID to vote?
  • Have a list of acceptable IDs to show voters
  • Idaho drivers license or identification card
  • U.S. Passport or Federal photo Identification
    card

  • Name must match the name in poll book
  • A ballot will be issued when signed

  • Registered and has acceptable photo ID
  • direct voter to Poll Book Clerk
  • Registered but does not have photo
  • Identification fill out the Personal
    Identification Affidavit

If Not Registered
  • IF the voter has photo ID and proof of residence
    in the precinct direct to the Election Day
    Registration Clerk
  • Voter does not have photo ID with proof of
  • residence in the precinct, the voter must return
  • with photo ID and proof of residence to register

residence
  • Current utility bill
  • Bank statement

  • Paycheck
  • Or other document with the registrants name,

Explain Choices to Voters
  • Party Affiliation - Yes or No
  • D L R or U Pick one
  • An unaffiliated voter may register with a party
    on
  • Election Day in the Poll Book
  • After signing the poll book the voter may not
    change
  • party or ballot choice. If a ballot is spoiled
    the voter
  • will be issued the same party ballot as recorded
    in the
  • poll book

  • Voters currently affiliated with a party may not
  • change on Election Day
  • Unaffiliated voters may register with a party on
  • Election Day or remain unaffiliated
  • If a ballot is spoiled the voter must be issued

Ballot Choice
  • Only registered Republicans may vote the
  • Republican ballot
  • Any voter may vote the Democratic ballot
  • Any voter may vote the non-partisan ballot
  • Some voters in the same precinct may be
  • entitled to vote different sub-district ballots

  • Make sure all voters know how to properly mark
  • the ballot for your county
  • Show them how to mark a ballot
  • Show them how to vote for a write-in candidate
  • Tell voters it is important to follow
    instructions
  • and fill out their ballot properly or their vote

  • Direct the voter to the Poll Book Clerk if they
    are
  • registered and have ID
  • Ask the voter to fill out the affidavit if they
    do not
  • have ID and have it hand for the Poll Book Clerk
  • Direct the voter to the Election Day Registration
  • Clerk if they are not registered, changed names
    or
  • moved, if they have a photo ID and proof of
  • residence in the precinct
