  • Liverpools unique culture is a direct result of
    its diverse communities
  • Total Population 465,700 (Source ONS 2011)
  • 13.7 (63,800) are Non White British
  • Between 2001/2009 BAME Population increased by
    23,800
  • Almost half of this growth occurred in white
    other group which includes residents from
    Eastern Europe including Poland, Czech Republic,
    Romania) and countries such as the Yeman
  • Other population groups that increased - Indian,
    Pakistani and Black African

  • Change in local governance led by a newly elected
    Mayor
  • Mayoral pledge to renew commitment to the
    Declaration
  • Instigating a programme of change that recognises
    the importance of our new and emerging
    communities, particularly economically
