own land and no one made them afraid.

your father was an Amorite and your mother a
Hittite.
20God wants a people for Him
- 4 "As for your nativity, on the day you were born
your navel cord was not cut, nor were you washed
in water to cleanse you you were not rubbed with
salt nor wrapped in swaddling cloths. 5 "No eye
pitied you, to do any of these things for you, to
have compassion on you but you were thrown out
into the open field, when you yourself were
loathed on the day you were born.
21God wants a people for Him
- 6 " And when I passed by you and saw you
struggling in your own blood, I said to you in
your blood, 'Live!' Yes, I said to you in your
blood, 'Live!' 7 "I made you thrive like a plant
in the field and you grew, matured, and became
very beautiful. Your breasts were formed, your
hair grew, but you were naked and bare.
22God wants a people for Him
- 8 "When I passed by you again and looked upon
you, indeed your time was the time of love so I
spread My wing over you and covered your
nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and
entered into a covenant with you, and you became
Mine," says the Lord GOD. 9 "Then I washed you
in water yes, I thoroughly washed off your
blood, and I anointed you with oil.

you sandals of badger skin I clothed you with
fine linen and covered you with silk. 11 "I

wrists, and a chain on your neck. 12 "And I put
a jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears, and
a beautiful crown on your head.

and your clothing was of fine linen, silk, and
embroidered cloth. You ate pastry of fine flour,

things should not happen, nor be.
27God wants a people for Him
- 17 "You have also taken your beautiful jewelry
from My gold and My silver, which I had given
you, and made for yourself male images and played
the harlot with them. 18 "You took your
embroidered garments and covered them, and you
set My oil and My incense before them.
28God wants a people for Him
- 19 "Also My food which I gave you -- the pastry
of fine flour, oil, and honey which I fed you --
you set it before them as sweet incense and so
it was," says the Lord GOD. 20 "Moreover you
took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore
to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be
devoured. Were your acts of harlotry a small
matter,
29God wants a people for Him
- 21 "that you have slain My children and offered
them up to them by causing them to pass through
the fire? 22 "And in all your abominations and
acts of harlotry you did not remember the days of
your youth, when you were naked and bare,
struggling in your blood. 23 " Then it was so,
after all your wickedness -- 'Woe, woe to you!'

of old to me, saying "Yes, I have loved you with
an everlasting love Therefore with
lovingkindness I have drawn you.

- 4 Again I will build you, and you shall be
rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! You shall again be
adorned with your tambourines, And shall go forth
in the dances of those who rejoice. 5 You shall
yet plant vines on the mountains of Samaria The

made to cease, your incense altars may be cut
down, and your works may be abolished.

- 7 "The slain shall fall in your midst, and you
shall know that I am the LORD. 8 " Yet I will
leave a remnant, so that you may have some who
escape the sword among the nations, when you are
scattered through the countries.
59God wants His people to be separate from the world
- 9 "Then those of you who escape will remember Me
among the nations where they are carried captive,
because I was crushed by their adulterous heart
which has departed from Me, and by their eyes
which play the harlot after their idols they
will loathe themselves for the evils which they
committed in all their abominations.

concerning the prophets 'Behold, I will feed
them with wormwood, And make them drink the water
of gall For from the prophets of Jerusalem
Profaneness has gone out into all the land.' "
73God wants His people to be separate from the world
- 16 Thus says the LORD of hosts "Do not listen to
the words of the prophets who prophesy to you.
They make you worthless They speak a vision of
their own heart, Not from the mouth of the LORD.

upon you.'

He has executed and performed the thoughts of His
heart. In the latter days you will understand it
perfectly. 21 " I have not sent these prophets,
yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they
prophesied. 22 But if they had stood in My

earth?" says the LORD. 25 "I have heard what the
prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name,
saying, 'I have dreamed, I have dreamed!'
83God wants His people to be separate from the world
- 26 "How long will this be in the heart of the
prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are
prophets of the deceit of their own heart, 27
"who try to make My people forget My name by
their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor,
as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.
84God wants His people to be separate from the world
- 28 "The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a
dream And he who has My word, let him speak My
word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?"
says the LORD. 29 "Is not My word like a fire?"
says the LORD, "And like a hammer that breaks the
rock in pieces? 30 " Therefore behold, I am
against the prophets," says the LORD, "who steal
My words every one from his neighbor.

at all," says the LORD.

part from the Book of Life, from the holy city,
