Their Father
  • Their fathers name was Zebedee.
  • They shared the same occupation as their father.
  • We know this because it tells us in the calling
    of James and John .
  • They left him immediately after Jesus called them
    to be apostles.

  • James and John were fishermen until Jesus called
    them.
  • Jesus did many miracles that involved them
    fishing in their
  • boat.

The Calling
  • James and John were on their boat with their
    father Zebedee.
  • Jesus came to their boat and said Follow me and
    I will make you fishers of men.
  • James and John left their boat and their father
    and followed Jesus.

  • Jesus called for James, John,

  • He took them up on a
  • Mountainside.

  • They cast out demons and healed many people in
    the name of Jesus.
  • They were also present at many miracles in the
    Bible.
  • One instance is when Jesus went up on the
    mountain for his transfiguration.
  • Peter was also present here.

  • They were present at the healing of Jairuss
    daughter.
  • They were also present at the healing of Peters
    mother-in-law and the two draughts of fish (the
    two miracles involving their calling and casting
    their nets on the other side).

    include asking Jesus if they should bring fire

    did not accept Jesus.
