  • Dont spend too much time coloring in circles.
  • Look ahead do the easiest items first.
  • Dont spend too much time on one question.
  • Circle questions you cant answer and move on.
    You can go back and spend time on them later.
  • Put a big ? by answers you arent sure about.
    You can go back and check them later.
  • Pace yourself.
  • Check, recheck and recheck AGAIN!
  • When the 5 minute warning is announced, check to
    make sure an answer is bubbled in for every
    question even if you have to guess!

  • The calculator is your ally (friend/helper), but
    BE CAREFUL!
  • Scout out ahead to find easy problems.
  • Word problems Read the last sentence first,
    then read the whole question touching the words
    as you read.
  • Draw pictures, make lists.
  • Look at everything listed on a graph or chart
    before reading the question.
  • Look at EVERY answer BEFORE making a choice.
  • Watch out for an ambush! (every, each, about,
    not, except)

  • Highlight black and white, right there type
    of questions.
  • Read all the answer choices.
  • Use the process of elimination.
  • Read all introductions, captions and words that
    are in italics.
