  • Do Now Some have said that the person or group
    which controls the purse of a nation has the
    greatest amount of power in that nation. Do you
    agree or disagree? Explain.
  • Homework As the power of Parliament increased
    the power of Englands kings decreased. Explain
    this statement in a paragraph.

  • Civil war A war between groups of people from
    the same country, culture, or political system.
  • Absolutism A monarch (King/Queen) who has total
    control. Example is King Louis XIV of France.
  • Divine Right the idea that God decides who
    should be King/Queen.
