  • Review/revise Utility PM procedures to minimize
    customer impact.
  • Modify breaker testing and transmission switching
    procedures to minimize operational impacts.
  • Recommend / Implement system modifications.
  • When replacing infrastructure, upgrade to high
    speed breakers / relays, etc.
  • Manufacturing tools and systems are impacted by
    power fluctuations greater than 6 cycles (lt1/10
    sec.) and power companies only have to track
    outages greater than 5 min..
  • PSC - tighten the range of sags that have to be
    reported and addressed.
  • Improve incident tracking and response to require
    root cause analysis and corrective action on all
    incidents that have customer impact.
  • Work with Public Service Commission to raise
    awareness with the utilities as to the impact on
    the industry and implement appropriate solutions
  • Allow use of NYSERDA (SBC,EEPS) / Grants /
    Economic Development Funding to further harden
    the power and manufacturing systems.
  • Develop a common reporting / tracking process and
    database to drive continuous improvement across
    Service Territories.
