Facts on the Dust Bowl
  • The dust bowl of the 1930s lasted about one
    decade.
  • The Dust Bowl didnt do too much Damage to the
    northern plains but agriculture wasnt too good
    for them.
  • The dust bowl covered most of Kansas, some of
    Texas, new Mexico Colorado and Oklahoma.

  • In around 1504 archeologist discovered that a
    dust bowl had driven natives of their land to
    look for new homes.
  • In the 1930s the heat and high wind swept up
    dust and blew it all around in humongous bark
    clouds
  • The dust could clog up in the motors of the Model
    T cars and cause them to stop running.

  • The dust drifts were so bad in places that it
    drifted onto railroads and workers had to shovel
    It off but a few hours after they had cleared it
    would be back in the same place.
  • it is said that commercial pilots climbed to
    heights of 15,000 feet to get into clear air.

    sheets over then hoping to cool off

  • The hot heat caused all the plants to dry leaving
    nothing to hold the dirt in place and the high
    wind blew it for hundreds of miles in huge bark
    clouds.
  • People also hung wet towels in the house hoping
    that they would help make the houses a little
    cooler dust they also attracted dust.
