5- Jorums vision

infrastructure for sharing and discovering OERs - http//mimas.ac.uk/news/2011/05/jorum-listens/

7- The Jorum User Group(s)
- As we move forward and away from the transition
period we are keen to get more - users involved, along with the steering
committee, key stakeholders in the development
and success of Jorum. - We are putting together two distinct but
inter-related user groups - The Power User Group This group would include
those users who routinely use Jorum, are uniquely
aware of what it has to offer, understand its
processes and problems, have been depositing
resources into Jorum for some time, and are
involved in constructive dialogues to improve the
service. - The Occasional User Group As the name suggests,
these are people who may be relatively new to
Jorum they would recognise the service as
potentially something valuable, but their
experiences are limited, and they may not
necessarily see the full use-value in any
repository of learning resources. - We are planning on inviting members of the OER
community, academics, and others to join one of
these two groups in the next few weeks.
8- We have a new steering group as well,
representing a number of institutions and
organisations, including - JISC
- The University of Leeds
- CETIS
- British Universities FilmVideo Council
- UKOLN
- Northumbria University
- John Rylands University Library (Manchester)
- HEA
- HedTek
9 Jorum is working on two collaborative pilots
The Institutional Pilot emphasising what 8
specific HEs and FEs could benefit from with
stronger connections to a national repository
The Subject Pilot Similar to the above, but with
the emphasis on subject categoriesThese two
will feed directly into our development of a new
Featured Collections section on the website (and
our business case).

- Of these, 9656 have the tag UKOER!
- We are currently working with the US Learning

18Stories
Being in Jorum means that your resources are
more visible in Google searches. There is also a
wealth of quality resources within Jorum already,
so if youre going to deposit, have a look, and
you may find something you can take home with you
too! Katy Jordan, Plant Sciences Pedagogy
Project, Cambridge
19Stories
- The main advantage of Jorum is that it helps
us further disseminate our resources the
more publicity, the better! - (Peter Hartley, Professor of Education
