Matrix Standard
  • The Matrix standard a national quality standard
    for any organisation delivering information,
    advice and/or guidance on learning and work.
  • Context college, employer, careers service,
    learning centre, work based learning providers,
    recruitment agency, etc.
  • Organisations apply for the standard which is
    reviewed every 2 years. Blackburn College has
    Matrix accreditation.

Learning Outcomes - RESCUE
  • Blackburn College new developments to reduce
    dropout
  • Koning Willem I College
  • Appointed one member of staff to provide IAG for
    those who drop out and also liaise with local
    partners. Early evidence shows high level of
    demand and some success with re-engaging.
  • Establishing internship opportunities Jan
    2010.
  • Success Class for dropout
  • Internship with FE and HE students eg ED
    topics.

  • Work with local authority to implement new model
    for IAG
  • To increase IAG and support to apprentices and
    work based learners
  • To increase transition from Level 3 to Level 4
  • To continue to develop strategies to reduce drop
    out from education.
