Gustar with infinitives

WHAT IS AN INFINITIVE?
  • An infinitive is the basic form of a verb, a word
that expresses action or a state of being.

3
En inglés
  • In English, infinitives do not have any special
endings, but they almost always have the word to
    in front of them.
  • Examples
  • to play,  to run,  to write
  • In Spanish, infinitives always end in -ar,-er, or
    ir
  • cantar   correr   escribir

4
An infinitive tells the meaning of the verb
without naming any subject or tense. There are
three kinds of infinitives in Spanish those
ending in -ar, those ending in -er, and those
ending in -ir.
  • cantar to sing
  • comer to eat
  • escribir to write
  • -ar infinitives
