Jesus talked about the Kingdom

• After John was put in prison, Jesus went into
  Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The
  time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is
  near. Repent and believe the good news! (Mark
  114-15)
• Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their
  synagogues, preaching the good news of the
  kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness
  among the people (Mt.423)
• Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
  kingdom of heaven (53).
• These twelve Jesus sent out with the following
  instructions As you go, preach this message
  The kingdom of heaven is near.' (105-7).
• He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is
  like. A man scatters seed on the ground
  (Mk.426).

How we see Jesus

• Everyone has some idea of Jesus in their head, be
  they Christians, agnostics, atheists or from
  other religions
• It may be traditional (inherited from church), or
  New Age (through Eastern mysticism)
• It could be biblical, but a private reading of
  scripture
• This view incorporates recent discoveries of
  literature from the NT era, but is still within
  traditional evangelical view of Jesus
• Through these discoveries, Jesus is being
  rediscovered
• The way you see Jesus influences almost
  everything else

What did he mean?
This, then, is how you should pray Our Father
in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom
come, your will be done on earth as it is in
heaven (Matthew 69-10).
