Title: The Faith of Isaac, Jacob and Joseph

1
The Faith of Isaac, Jacob and Joseph
  • Hebrews 1120-22

2

3
2 Corinthians 417-18
  • For this slight momentary affliction is preparing
for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all
comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that
are seen but to the things that are unseen. For
the things that are seen are transient, but the
things that are unseen are eternal.

4
Revelation 2220-21
  • He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I
am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! 21 The
grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen. "

5
2 Peter 33-4
  • knowing this first of all, that scoffers will
come in the last days with scoffing, following
their own sinful desires. 4 They will say,
"Where is the promise of his coming? For ever
since the fathers fell asleep, all things are
continuing as they were from the beginning of
    creation."

6
Acts 110-11
  • And while they were gazing into heaven as he
went, behold, two men stood by them in white
robes, 11 and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you
stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was
taken up from you into heaven, will come in the
same way as you saw him go into heaven."

7
Matthew Henry
  • Though the grace of faith is of universal use
throughout the Christians life, yet it is
especially so when we come to die. Faith has its
great work to do at the very last, to help
believers to finish well, to die to the Lord so
as to honor Him, by patience, hope and joy so as
to leave a witness behind them of the truth of
Gods Word and the excellency of His ways.

1 Corinthians 1554-57
  • Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all
sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead
will be raised imperishable, and we shall be
changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on
the imperishable, and this mortal body must put
on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on
the imperishable, and the mortal puts on
immortality, then shall come to pass the saying
that is written "Death is swallowed up in
victory." 55 "O death, where is your victory? O
death, where is your sting?" 56 The sting of
death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory
    through our Lord Jesus Christ.

9
1 Corinthians 1558
  • Therefore, in light of the fact that death has
lost its sting. In light of the fact that the
immortal is coming. In light of the fact that
the imperishable is just around the corner.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast,
immovable, always abounding in the work of the
Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not
    in vain.

10
In Light of Our FUTURE HOPE
  • Be Steadfast and Immovable.
  • Abound in the Work of the Lord.
  • Look to the Prize.
