    non-communicable diseases accounted for nearly
    60 of deaths and 46 of the global burden of
    diseases.

Communicable disease burden in India
  • The World Bank estimates 21 of communicable
    diseases in India are water related. Of these
    diseases, diarrhoea alone killed over 700,000
    Indians in 1999 (estimated) over 1,600 deaths
    each day.

    anthrax.
  • In April 2009 the World Health Organization
    declared the

Current situation of manpower
  • As on march 2007,the overall shortfall in the
    post of HW(F)/ANM was 12.6 of the total
    requirement.

Integrative Care model

  • 1) The patient with sub-acute to chronic low back
    pain or neck pain consults the primary care unit.
  • 2) The patient and the general practitioner
    develop a treatment plan.
  • 3) The patient is offered conventional care,
    i.e. treatment as usual.

    appropriate, these are integrated into the
    treatment plan by way of a consensus case
    conference with the integrative medicine provider
    team.

    therapies as part of the treatment plan, i.e.

    management is finished. (Please note that
