Grading Guidelines
  • E - performing above grade level and has
    advanced application of knowledge and skills
  • E - performing above grade level and has
    mastered application of knowledge and skills
  • S - performing on grade level and is applying
    knowledge and skills at expected rate
  • S - performing on grade level and developing
    knowledge and skills at an acceptable rate
  • N - performing slightly below grade level and
    needs to improve or develop in applying knowledge
    and skills
  • U - performing below grade level and shows
    little or no progress in applying knowledge and
    skills
  • Content Areas Reading, Language/Composition,
    Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Grades
    are based on the average of 4 minor grades and 2
    major grades per subject.
  • Students receive grades for Technology
    Application and Theater Arts from the classroom
    teacher.

Conduct Grading Guidelines
  • E chooses to act in a responsible and
    respectful manner most of the time and has
    several stars on the behavior calendar.
  • S acts responsible most of the time, responds
    to redirection to make better choices, and has
    mostly stickers on the behavior calendar.
  • N needs lots of redirection to make better
    choices and has less than ½ of the calendar
    filled with stickers
  • U has needed the principal to be involved and
    still chooses to make poor behavior choices
    little or no improvement in behavior

Behavior Folder
  • This will go home every day. It will be a record
    of your childs daily behavior. Please initial
    each day so that we know you are aware of the day
    your child have.

Call for GT Referrals
  • The GT referral window for K-11 is open August
    26th- September 27th. If you would like to refer
    your child for Kleins Gifted and Talented
    Program, please stop by the front office and pick
    up a referral packet.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please
    call our counselor, Jennifer Matus at
    832-484-6128 or our Assistant Principal, Sandra
    Speer at 832-484-6147.
  • For more information you may also visit the KISD
    website.

  • Completed referral packets must be brought back
    by the parent to the front office by Friday,
    September 27th.
  • Please do not send the completed packet back
    with your child. It is reviewed by Mrs. Matus or
