3Whats in the Remote Kit (50024917)?
A. Insulated hose (10 or 20 ft) B. Remote duct
nozzle C. Remote humidifier nozzle D. Foam gasket
for remote nozzle E. Support hooks (7 or 14) F.
Hose clamps (2) G. Drywall anchors (4) H.
TrueSTEAM screws, 1-1/4 in. (4) I. Support hook
screws, 3/4 in. (7 or 14)
4Additional Materials May Be Required If
- Remote hose has a downward slope. You must use a
212F - rated Tee and P-trap. Do not use a plastic Tee.
- TrueSTEAM is using an auxiliary drain. You must
install a - wetted drain trap or condensate pump rated at
212F. Pump - must have total minimum capacity of 1 gallon
per minute - water flow for the vertical rise of the
installation. - TrueSTEAM is installed in a living space. You
must install a - drip pan with overflow wet switch under the
TrueSTEAM.
5Installation Precautions

- kit installation guide (form
- 69-2317) for a complete
- listing of these precautions.
Failure to comply with the installation manual
may result in voided warranty.
6Tools and Parts Needed
- Basic tools needed to install TrueSTEAM
- Wire cutter/stripper
- Torx driver T-20 and T-30
- Standard screwdriver
- 1-3/4-in. diameter hole saw
- 1/8-in. drill bit
- 18-gauge wire (up to 5 conductor)
- Other optional parts for advanced installations
- Condensate pump rating of 212F (100C) if used.
- Drip pan with water sensor shut-off required
underneath TrueSTEAM if installed in or above
finished space.

Remote adapter nozzle should be pitched upward
when installed correctly.

Insert the hose clamp into the slit and hoot it
onto the rubber hose.
Do not cut into the Rubber steam hose.
11Step 5 Connecting the Remote Hose

Use only cold water. Do not use hot water
supply. a. Water Filter. Insert 1/4-inch copper
or plastic water line. Apply modest pull to
ensure a tight fit. b. Back-flow preventer
valve. Insert 1/4-in. copper or plastic water
line. Apply modest pull to ensure a tight fit.
c. Connect 1/2-in. drain tube. Secure drain tube
to barbed fitting with hose clamp. d. Shut off
the water supply. Secure 1/4-in. copper or
plastic water feed tube.

Choose the plumbing option that suits your
installation. Use A, B, C, or D based on type of
pipe or condensate pump. Consult and follow local
plumbing codes in addition to these instructions.
