Managing Self Referrals

This guide provides information on managing the
self referral process for job seekers who apply
for staff assisted job openings online. The
pages displayed here are either full pages or
partial pages with a description of the essential
entries in order to assist staff navigation of
the function.

To access self referrals, click on the Self Referral link under the Control Panel. Veteran clients are listed first by referral date. Click on the Clients Name to view the client resume job qualifications then click on the job title to view the employer job requirements. Click the Approve/Deny link.

Clients program enrollment must match staff persons program privileges in order to complete referral process. You may edit the date to report and the time to report. To approve the referral click the Approve Referral button. To deny the referral click the Deny Referral button.

If the individual is a non-citizen not eligible to work in the United States, you will get this message. Click the Deny Referral button.

Click the Denial Referral Letter button and edit the letter to deny the referral because the individual is not eligible to work in the United States.

You will get this message if the job order is in referred status. You will need to contact the employer to get permission to increase the number of referrals requested before you can approve this referral. If the employer does not want to increase the referrals you will need to deny this referral and edit the letter explaining the reason for denial. Click the Try Again button.

If you deny the referral, you will need to click on the Denial Referral Letter button to edit a denial referral letter to the job seeker. If the jobseeker has an email address, the button is labeled Denial Email Letter. The job seeker will be marked as reviewed and the referral will be deleted from the self referral queue.

You may edit the letter and print the letter for mailing using your browser print function.

If the job seeker has an email address listed you may edit and send the email letter by clicking the Submit Denial Letter button.

If you approve the referral and the job order is in Hold status you will need to contact the employer to get permission to re-open the job order. If the employer will not re-open the job order you will need to deny the referral and edit the denial letter indicating that the job order has been closed to referrals. Click the Try Again button.

If you click the Approve Referral button and the job order has been closed you will see this message displayed. You will need to edit and send a denial letter to the job seeker indicating that the job order has been closed. Click the Try Again button.

If the referral is approved, you may edit a referral approval letter to the job seeker and employer. If an email is provided , you may email the letter of referral approval. Otherwise, you will need to print and mail the letter. In this case click the Email Jobseeker button to view the letter to the jobseeker and click the Print Employer button to view the Employer letter.

In this case you may edit the letter and click the Submit Email button to send the letter to the jobseeker.

In the case of the employer you may edit the letter and print the letter for mailing to the employer using your browser print function.

If you click the Approve Referral button and the job seeker has been previously referred to the job order you will see a message displayed indicating the date of referral. Click the Try Again button.
