  • Groups visit library to research different
    theories proposed regarding how and when America
    was first populated.

  • Brainstorm as class on what the short and long
    term impacts of European exploration were upon
    the Western Hemisphere.

    Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
  • Groups present their articles main points.
  • View 50 Years War and answer guiding question.
  • Divide Students into the following groups
    Israelis, Palestinians, British, Egyptians,
    Americans. Groups research each by answering
    questions such as, What religion do they
    practice, what type of government do they use,
    etc.

    is an economic issue.

    representing how our country would change if we

    engineering.

What is Political Science?Democratic Processes
  • Students will be asked to study and then describe
    what is required by our democratic processes in
    order to declare war. Iraq will serve as current
    issue.
  • Students will examine possible impacts upon our
    civil liberties with the American Government
    changing how and under what conditions citizens
    could be detained for questioning.
  • Groups will study and do a project explaining the
    electoral college.
  • Class will visit the Library of Congress web
    site, specifically the THOMAS page, and review
    what bills have been introduced.
  • Students will vote on a bill and justify their
    vote either orally or through a written report.

    provided with five different issues, which affect
    all students. Male students have opportunity to
    try and persuade female students vote.
  • Students individually choose significant school
    issue/problem.

    issue/problem.
