The Hydrosphere

• The blue planet
• Mass of liquid continually circulating from in
  the oceans and the atmosphere
• Our oceans occupy 71 of the earths surface,
  accounting for 97 of earths water
• The rest? Streams, Lakes, Glaciers, Groundwater.

The Atmosphere

• Thin blanket of gases that not only provides the
  air we breath, but also acts to protect us from
  the Suns intense heat and solar radiation
• Without an atmosphere there would be no life

The Solid Earth

• It is divided into three principal units
• core
• (inner and outer)
• mantle
• (inner and outer)
• crust

The Biosphere

• Includes all life on Earth
• Life-forms help maintain and alter their physical
  environment
• Without it, the nature of the solid earth,
  hydrosphere, and atmosphere would be very
  different
