1
Things You Can Learn About Penguins
  • By Emily LeBlanc

2
  • For the past week I have been researching the
penguin. You are going to learn about its
    physical description, habitat, defense, prey,
    predators, and some interesting facts.

3
Physical Description
4
Habitat
  • Do you know where the penguin lives? Things you
will see in the penguins habitat are snow, ice
and grass. The penguin can survive here because
it can eat fish. Its black and white pattern
    camouflages the penguin.

5
Defense
  • Do you know what the penguin defense is?

    Well one way the
penguin protects itself is by swimming very fast
to get away from its prey. Another detail about
the penguin defense is the baby penguin blends in
    with the snow.

6
Prey
  • Gulp! Now you will find out what the penguin
eats. The penguin eats plankton from the ocean.
The penguin also eats small fish shrimp and small
    squid.

7
Predators
  • Ahh The penguins enemies are people, sharks, and
leopard seals. People are killing penguins
because people need food and they use the skin
for warmth. Another predator is sharks and they
are liking penguins because they need food. Also,
leopard seals are also killing penguins for food.

8
Interesting Facts
  • Do you know some interesting facts about the
penguin? Baby penguins take up to about 3 days
to break out of their shells. Baby penguins walk
10 to 45 days after they hatch. Baby penguins
stay in nurseries so mom and dad can find food.

9
  • In conclusion, I hope you learned a lot about the
penguin. It was a challenge for me to figure out
    all of this information.
