district. It is the first one of its kind in

bi-monthly to discuss needs of AP - Encourage and recruit students to be a part of

- Pre-AP starts in 7th grade.
- Springboard
- Students are screened and recommended for Pre-AP
and AP, however we maintain an open door policy - Teachers are trained by College Board before they
teach Pre-AP and AP.
18Students need to learn to think and act
independently and responsibly. We as educators
can help develop this understanding and skill
set. We must teach our students to learn how to
learn. One very important thing is that middle
and high school educators must work together in
support of students.

- Middle and High School teachers meet monthly in
subject areas - Vertical Alignment Document
- Teachers lesson plan together and collaborate
- Meet AT LEAST 4 times per year. Preferably every
month. - Administrators must protect this meeting time

- Over the last 4 years we have seen a large
increase in total AP and Pre-AP participation.
We have also seen an increase in students scoring
3, 4, and 5 on the AP exams. - We have a greater number of students taking the
PSAT. - We have an open door policy for AP and Pre-AP.
