The Auto Rental System
  • To produce a web page for the online rental
    system with a url
  • http//ltthedomaingt/index.html
  • The site is an on-line car rental system which is
    called ELC Auto Rental
  • The system enables the customers to register at
    the site, view available cars and their
    descriptions and make reservations.

User types
  • The Online Auto Rental System has two different
    types of users
  • Admin users
  • Customers

Customers
  • An ordinary customer will be able to carry out
    the following interactions
  • make a reservation for a vehicle
  • view her/his reservation
  • view available cars and their descriptions and
    price
  • modify her/his personal details

Administrators
  • The system administrators and workshop staff take
    part in the following interactions
  • making reservations on behalf of any customer
  • viewing reservations for vehicles made by
    customers
  • enrolling new customers

Customer Registration
  • At enrolment, potential customers submit their
    details, which have to be verified by staff, not
    by computer, and these are kept on file. From
    then on, customers can rent cars without further
    paperwork.

Admin view
  • Administrators will be able to see the
    reservations.
  • Admin users will also be able to enrol new
    customers (verify the registration).
  • The admin page is only a report of current
    reservation.
  • You do not need to implement
  • Credit card transactions
  • Archive and edit options for admin reports

Implementation
  • The outcome will be a web-based system.
  • You do not need to develop functionalities to
    maintain vehicle list, and financial transactions
    (you may enter this information to the system
    manually)
  • You do not need to add/implement security
    features (secure connection,...)
  • You can use .NET or J2EE server-side technologies
    to implement the system.
