SPECIAL USE AIRSPACE
091214
2
  • Military operations within R-5306A/C shall be on
a VFR concurrent use basis unless scheduled for
    exclusive use.
  • Scheduling is required for use of R-5306A/C,
Neuse ATCAA, BT-9, BT-11, Core MOA and Hatteras
    Foxtrot MOA. Contact Central Scheduling
    (4040/4041) from 0700L-1700L, Monday-Friday for
mission numbers. Entry will be denied without a
    mission number.
  • Maximum consideration will be given to 2dMaw
operational/training squadrons on a first come
first served basis. Priority will be considered
for exercises based on operational requirements.
Scheduling R-5306A/C for exclusive use requires
approval of CO MCAS Cherry Point.
  • R-5306A sub areas 3A and 3B are used by civilian
letter holders as part of their livelihood.
Approved on a first come first served basis.
  • Pre-clearance into R-5306A has been established
so that military aircraft would not have to check
in with Approach upon entry. Schedule no more
than 2 hours in advance and you will receive a 20
    minute window to enter.

3
  • R-5306D/E are scheduled through Camp LeJeune
    Range Control (DSN 751-3064/3065)
  • G-10 Bombing and Target Range will be scheduled
through CLNC Range Control. Aircraft scheduling
G-10 shall schedule R-5306C and Hatteras Foxtrot
MOA with CPNC Central Scheduling and W-122 with
    FACSFAC VACAPES (DSN 433-1218).
  • Scheduling of W-122 will be through FACSFAC
VACAPES usually one week in advance.
  • If you have scheduled SUA and no longer have a
    need, please cancel.
  • Approach Control provides containment service for
SUA under Cherry Point jurisdiction and is
required to record spill-outs. The pilot is
ultimately responsible for remaining within the
confines of the airspace scheduled for the
    mission.

4
  • Pilots desiring IFR from NKT directly to a local
restricted area should contact clearance delivery
with their request. Cancellation of IFR is
required prior to entry into area.
  • Pilots departing NKT VFR directly to
R-5306A/Neuse ATCAA should contact Approach North
(360.775/119.75) on the deck with a valid mission
number. If destination is R-5306C/D/E or Hat
Fox, contact Approach East (268.7/124.1) on the
deck with a mission number. You will receive a
transponder code and this is your authorization
to enter the SUA. All aircraft regardless of
destination shall contact Departure Control on
    268.7/124.1.
  • Pilots departing NKT directly to the Warning Area
    should contact clearance delivery. VFR
departures expect an assigned beacon code for
flight following. IFR departures expect a
clearance to Point A (NKT 134/027 or Point B (NKT
184/016) to maintain odd altitudes up to 17,000
with a handoff to Giant Killer.
  • Entering R-5306A, pilots shall check in and
continuously monitor the common traffic advisory
    frequency, 244.8
  • Entry into R-5306A does not constitute clearance
onto the targets. Aircraft must call Cherry
Targets on 323.9/141.85 for BT-11 and
337.0/149.325 for BT-9 prior to entering a five
mile radius of the bombing target.

(overhead, VFR, etc.) state your intentions to
    the controller on initial contact.
